Dacian's Skinniest Pictures EVER!

This posting is going to be out of chronological order. Sorry to anyone who might be bothered by that. I lost the pictures and just found them a couple days ago while loading pics off the memory card from the fireworks display.

I started Weight Watchers in February 2006. For 14 months I followed the program and went to my weekly meetings. I was amazed at how easy I found it to be. By March of 2007 I had lost over 50 lbs and was just 15 lbs from my goal weight. In Weight Watchers language that meant I was just 15 lbs away from being able to attend the program FREE. I was even approached to think about becomming a staff member once I hit my goal.

In March 2006, I went through my closets and dresser drawers and gave away all my "fat clothes." I was never going to allow myself to go back to where I was. I figured giving away all the clothes would make each bite more costly becuase I would have to buy clothes if I got bigger. And since we all know how motivated by money I can be, I thought this would make me not eat those bites! I loaded up the ole' Corolla's trunk full of pants, shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts and even underwear that I gave away. It was about 3-4 big bins worth. It felt so good!

Before I gave away my favorite two pairs of pants, I had to take pictures of myself in them to see how far I'd come. Can you believe at one point they were actually too small for me??? That's what drove me to Weight Watchers-my favorite pants were too small for me. It was time to lose it. Duane was so supportive, he would do the program with me from home. He even lost about 10 lbs just from eating dinner with me. Check me out!!! I was so going to be wearing a biniki this summer!!! First time since I was 19 years old. But alas, I purchased a maternity bathing suit instead!! God has such a sence of humor.
My favorite olive dress pants I got from the Gap Outlet while in Seminary. I'm not sucking it in either!!!
My favorit pair of jeans... ever! They were the perfect length... even on my short legs!

Well, around late March I started slowing down in the weight loss area. It was very frustrating, but I figured I had just hit a wall and had to work to get over it. However, April 3rd we found out we were pregnant. That explains things! There was a child growing in my belly. No wonder I had gained .5 lbs for the last 2 weeks. And I was hungry all the time! That made counting points very difficult. You are not allowed to do Weight Watchers while pregnant for obvious reasons. So I had to take a leave of absence. Peanut Keaton will be born in December and by February 2008 I'll be back at Weight Watchers again to finish what I started. Stay posted to see what happens!

Way to go on the weight loss! You were (and are) looking fantastic! I've dropped about 13 pounds since the beginning of the year myself to get back down to how you might remember me. ;) Yeah, I got a little happy fat on me once I got married. A few pounds to go to get to my goal. Your statement about God's sense of humor is similar to what I keep thinking--it'll be my luck to finally get the weight off and then get pregnant. But I'm sure it feels good to know that you *can* lose the weight if you put your mind to it, which will help you in the post-partum. In the meantime, keep on eating for two! :)

Dacian, each time I had great success on WW, I wound up pregnant, so take it easy after Peanut arrives or you may get another one right away! :) J/K. You do look great and I'm proud of you for sticking with the program and getting so healthy. Don't worry about the weight gain during pregnancy. Just remember that your body is hard at work creating a little miracle and it is worth it all to have a healthy baby. AND, once you have little peanut and start the program again, you get an extra 10 points a day for breastfeeding. :) Anyhow, good job lady-Day! ~Sarah
