Registering for our Baby Boy!

After our appointment we headed out to Hamburg to start our registry at Babies R Us. We ate lunch at the same Mc Donald's at which we planned our honeymoon about 4 years ago. Instead of travel plans, this time around we sat and mapped out our plan of attack on our registry. We wanted to start with bedding, but when we got there we were overwhelmed and decided to redo that attack plan.
We got to park in the "Expecting Mother" parking. I felt so special!
We got signed up and were given our zapper gun. We were both overwhelmed. Do we really need all this stuff?? Why are there so many different types of bottles and pacifiers? Why would anyone spend $200 on a crib set? What does that do?? What in the world is that thing? Who thought of all this stuff?
We spent the next couple hours browsing and picking out items for our little one. I was amazed that we made it through the entire experience without any disagreements! So unlike our wedding registry almost 4 years ago. I think Duane's favorite part was picking our receiving blankets and burp clothes that had footballs on them. Too bad nothing there wasn't any 49ers stuff.
For our experienced parents viewing our blog, feel free to post any advice on bottles, toys or things you wish you had or hadn't gotten with your children.

Yay! Boys are such fun (although, I would have said the same about a girl, too!). Since I consider myself a veteran parent (Dorie is 5 and Thad is 3), I will do as you requested. Do not, DO NOT register for more than about 1 bottle of any specific brand. You may like the looks of a certain brand, but that does not mean that Baby Duane is going to agree with you... particularly since you are planning to breastfeed. With more than 4 years of nursing behind me, trust me! Rather than going with lots of bottles in different sizes from one brand, register for one or 2 of a small size in a few different brands. That way, if Baby doesn't like it, you have other nipple options! Best Wishes!

Dacian, you know what I consider the absolute most essential accessory to all new parents - the Boppy! Not only is it great for breastfeeding and bottle feeding, it's great for tummy time and helping the baby sit up, etc. I give it 4 stars! :)

Boys are awesome! Congratulations! I say if you're registering for bottles then go with Dr. Brown's bottles. They are wonderful. I nursed Vivian for a month then switched and she never had a problem with them. Plus they have the graduating nipple sizes so you can keep the bottles and change the nipples out. Dacian, You look great! Hope you had fun shopping! Love-Jessica

Hi Duane and Dacian!
Congratulations..I'm so excited for you! Parenthood is absolutely amazing!
I would recommend a Bumbo seat and the "tag blanket". Has silky tabs around the edges...they have "tag books" too.
I wish you the best! Thanks for the updates!
